Morristown
Morristown packs a lot of housing into a compact town, and that shapes the kind of garage door work people need. Many older homes have detached garages set back on narrow lots, often reached by a shared or tight driveway, and their doors may be wood or early steel models that have been patched over the years. Opener upgrades, spring replacements, and swapping a tired old door for an insulated one are common requests here.
Morristown sits lower than the Highlands towns to the west, but it still gets the full northern New Jersey winter, with freeze and thaw cycles, slushy streets, and road salt that collects on garage floors. The Whippany River runs through town near Center Street and on toward Speedwell Lake, and low lying properties close to it can see damp garages and rust at the bottom of the door. Mature street trees drop leaves into tracks and along bottom seals each fall. Driveways are often short, shared, or squeezed between houses, so a car bumping a door or track is a common cause of off track calls. Older detached garages may also lack a nearby outlet, which matters when adding an opener.
